Step 1 Start selling even before they get to your squeeze page.
There are basically two ways for visitors to get to your squeeze page: either you directed them yourself or you didn’t. People you hadn’t directed will benefit from Steps 2 and the rest.

Now, you have several options to direct and prepare people to and for your website. First, you can create marketing emails and newsletters that will inform them on the various features and benefits – all of which must be irresistible – they may obtain from your website. These should consequently convince them to opt-in to your list once they get to your landing page.

Another way to direct people to your website is to work with your affiliates and partners to do the marketing for you. Of course, you’re expected to do the same for them, but that’s unimportant right now.

It’s important to put in as much effort as possible in informing and selling to your customers before they even get to your squeeze page. If your efforts succeed then most, if not all, of them probably won’t mind the minor requirements set by your squeeze page.

Step 2 Let’s start making your squeeze page then. The first fundamental element of a squeeze page is the headline. Making the headline for a squeeze page is just like making a headline for a news item.

It must be short but packed with information; it must let the reader know about all the important details. It must be the main theme and everything else found in the squeeze page should revolve around the headline.

It must be factual; don’t promise something you can’t deliver. And lastly, it must serve as a teaser as well. Headlines should give something but not everything! Headlines must convince the reader that the rest of the story is worth reading!

Step 3 Create the sub-headline. The headlines had given your readers a taste of what to expect. It has whetted their appetite, but that’s not enough. You need to give them just a little bit more, maybe a bite or two of the best of what you have, to drive in the fact that they need to opt in to your email list!

Obviously, steps 2 and 3 won’t be doable for you if you don’t know your business inside and out. But if you do then choosing the headline and sub-headline would just require you to pick out what needs highlighting. When creating a sub-headline, you have the license to be more elaborate in detail. A headline is like a hard jab; it lasts but a second, but it’s something you can’t forget so quickly. A sub-headline, however, provides more lingering but still unforgettable pain.

Step 4 The main content of your squeeze page should take up a bulleted format as much as possible. Bulleted points will make your squeeze page easier on the eye and skim-friendly. Statistics show that most people tend to skim online articles then deciding afterwards if it’s worth reading slowly and fully. You need to make sure that the best points of your squeeze page shine out even when the page’s contents are just being skimmed.

The main content of your squeeze page should be made up of the best features and benefits of your website. Features are any parts or functions of your products and services. Benefits are the end-results, positive of course, provided by the features of your products and services.

Step 5 Purchase an auto-responder system to ensure that when they do subscribe to your opt-in list, you wouldn’t have to manually supervise the registration process for each and every member.

Step 6 Lastly, design your page. Make the layout adjust to your content’s needs and not the other way around. Having a good design may attract people to your website, but it’s still the content that could make or break your online business.
